"I
loved being the camp lifeguard." Jamie Conrad
"I
have many wonderful memories but what mostly stands
out are the campers such as Mint and her crowd and
wonderful friends I made with other staff from all
over the world. The sleep out used to be an experience!
Rumours of bears and a struggle to get anyone to the
bathroom! Also some amazing "off" weekends."
Jacqui, Derham
"I've
had so many good times at camp Paivika, ever since
I started going, its hard to pick just one memory.
The talent shows were always a blast plus all the
people I've met over the years. Camp Paivika will
always be a part of my heart and soul." Thomas

Staff
As is typical with camps, the emphasis is on FUN!
Specially-trained staff members provide support for
campers whose disabilities range from mild to severe.
Camp Paivika is open for eight sessions during the
summer, beginning in June.
The
five-night (children) to six-night (teen and adult)
programs include all of the traditional activities
of camping: horseback riding, archery, swimming, cookouts
and campfires, arts and crafts, and nature hikes and
activities, as well as fine arts.
Children
attend activities together throughout the week to
ensure proper supervision while teen and adult campers
plan their own activity schedules for the entire session
upon their arrival at camp. All programs are designed
to ensure that each camper can participate to the
best of his or her ability.
For
example, our horseback riding program consists of
several different types of activities: riding for
those who are able; supported riding for those who
require assistance; and “on the ground” interaction
– such as grooming, feeding or bathing the horse --
for those who are unable to physically ride on the
horse or who choose not to.
Camp
Paivika is fully accredited by the American Camping
Association.
